Privacy Policy

Tategoto (“the App”) is an iOS application provided by the App’s developer (“the Developer”). This policy explains how information is handled when you use the App.
1. Information the App Handles
The App generates a disguised message based on content you enter — including your hidden message, cover style, recipient’s name, and words to include (collectively, “your input”). How your input is handled depends on which AI feature you choose.
1.1 When Using Apple Intelligence (default, on-device AI)
Your input is processed entirely on your device and is never sent to the Developer or any other third party. This is made possible by Apple’s on-device AI capability.
1.2 When Using an External AI Service (Claude, ChatGPT, or Gemini)
If you enter your own API key in Settings and select one of these services, your input is sent to that provider’s servers (Anthropic, OpenAI, or Google) each time you generate a message. Content you send may be handled according to that provider’s own privacy policy and terms, and — within free usage tiers — may be used to improve their services (such as AI model training).
The App obtains your explicit consent before any such transmission occurs. If you do not consent, that AI service will not be used. You may withdraw consent at any time by deleting the API key in Settings.
Your API key itself is stored only in your device’s Keychain and is never sent to the Developer or any other third party.
1.3 Features That Do Not Use AI
The built-in example messages, manual composition mode, result editing (“Polish”), and copy/share functions do not use AI and do not send any information externally.
2. Information Collected by the Developer
The Developer does not collect, store, or analyze your usage of the App, including your input or generated results. Information such as your remaining free-tier count is stored only on your device and, if iCloud sync is enabled, in your own iCloud account.
3. In-App Purchases
The App uses Apple’s In-App Purchase (one-time purchase) system. Payment information is processed by Apple; the Developer does not receive your credit card number or other payment details.
4. Disclosure to Third Parties
Except as described in Section 1.2 above, the Developer does not disclose your input or other personal information to any third party.
5. Advertising
The App does not display advertising.
6. Children’s Privacy
The App does not knowingly collect information targeted at any specific age group and is not primarily directed at children under 13.
7. Changes to This Policy
This policy may be updated without notice to reflect changes in law or in the App’s features. Significant changes will be announced within the App.
